With this project, Samsung’s main goals were to elevate the Samsung brand, amplify product and campaign launches, and to connect with Canadians on a personal level. Our main challenge on this project was to ensure that Samsung’s main objectives with the board were met.
In order to ensure that Samsung’s objectives were met, ICON had to consult on the LED technology, ensure that the best technology was recommended for the solution, and executed on all data cabling and installation. Ultimately, Samsung became recognized as having the largest out-of-home LED screen across Canada. The installation and maintenance of the board has been a major success with thousands of people admiring it daily. It has even been used for large scale international events such as TIFF 2015 when it was used to broadcast a live stream of the red carpet for The Martian. To this day, ICON is still actively monitoring the board and scheduling content that is being displayed at Yonge and Dundas Square.
