On Tuesday, August 23rd the CP Women’s Leadership Summit presented by ICON makes an exciting return to Ottawa after two years of being virtual. The summit brought together influential leaders in both business and sports for a fifth year where they had the opportunity to engage in conversations and share their perspectives regarding diversity in their fields and women in leadership. This year, ICON is proud to be the presenting sponsor of such an influential event for leaders in the community to partake in conservations surrounding gender equity, representation, and seat-at-the-table discussions.
Hosted by TSN’s Lindsay Hamilton, the summit’s guest speakers certainly did not disappoint with panelists including two-time Olympic gold medalist Cassie Campbell-Pascall, Senior Director of Communications & Marketing at MNP Caroline Lavallée, and member of Blacks Lives Matter Golf, Tina Skeir. The summit wrapped up with a fireside chat with keynote speaker, Arlene Dickinson - General Partner of District Ventures Capital and famously, the star of the hit television series, Dragons’ Den. The best-selling author, podcaster, public speaker, and member of Canada’s Most Powerful Women Top 100 Hall of Fame, addressed plenty of valuable insights making it one of the biggest highlights of the day and definitely not an event to be missed.

I loved hearing our panelists speak of how they navigated and triumphed through the difficult/crossroad moments in their personal lives also. All the ladies were so open and honest with their stories and Lindsay Hamilton did an excellent job with the questions.” Evans goes on to say that even though there were many people in the room, “it felt like an intimate chat amongst us all. I got so much out of the day and look forward to next year”.
