For the second summer in a row, Canada played host to the basketball world with Toronto’s international showcase, Globl Jam! Canada’s biggest city saw U-23 mens’ and women’s teams from around the world compete in international friendlies to showcase their best up-and-coming talent in one of the world’s most popular sports; we welcomed teams from the United States, Puerto Rico, Germany, and all over Africa in a 1 week event highlighting both 5-on-5 and 3-on-3 basketball.
As partners with both Canada Basketball and Toronto Metropolitan University, ICON was called upon to help transform TMU’s Mattamy Athletic Centre and Yonge & Dundas Square into Canada Basketball’s tournament venues. ICON used a wide variety of large format graphics to help brand these spaces including window vinyl wraps for court entrances, banners and fabric wraps for lower-bowl seating areas, vinyl wraps for locker rooms, step & repeat media backdrops, fence scrim, and commercial print for VIP table-top bars.
The tournament was a success generating a lot of buzz for all international teams as the basketball world looks towards the upcoming FIBA World Cup with Team Canada looking to make a strong push with one of its strongest teams ever featuring an entire roster of NBA players! We can’t wait to continue to grow our relationship with Canada Basketball as they look to conquer international competition!
