ICON proudly partnered with William Osler Health System Foundation to produce, and install a series of nine impactful wall murals at Etobicoke General Hospital. This initiative was created to inspire community support and highlight the vital role donations play in exceptional person-centred care.
Spanning nine floors of the hospital's original patient tower, the installation features six unique mural designs. Two of the murals highlight a powerful message: 100 per cent of the equipment in Ontario hospitals is funded by the community.
The remaining four murals celebrate the diverse community of physicians and hospital staff to dedicated board members and volunteers, each individual has contributed to the hospital's mission. These portraits honour the many ways they help strengthen the hospital and it's community.
To ensure durability and a professional finish, we used 3M calendared vinyl with a 3M protective laminate for the murals. We selected 3M materials because of the brand's strong reputation and widespread trust within the health care industry. The calendared vinyl was the ideal choice for this project, as it is specifically designed for flat surfaces like interior walls which worked well since the installation did not involve any complex curves.
