It was a slam dunk for the first-ever Raptors for Research event at TRIO Sportsplex on Sunday, March 5th. With over 500 participants, including Canadian musicians Roy Woods and The Arkells and Raptors superfan, Nav Bhatia, Raptors for Research held its inaugural Canadian Premiere 3x3 basketball tournament in support of Sinai Health’s Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI).

ICON Visual was given free reign in designing the space and donated all the graphics for the event transforming this foundational event for all players and participants. Vinyl wraps, tension fabric displays, mini-Championship flags, directional signage, banners, and more were seen both inside and outside the TRIO Sportsplex in Vaughan. ICON is proud to have partnered with such an amazing event and organization that ultimately contributes to the health and well-being of people globally through LTRI research. Through donations and fundraising leading up to the event, teams have raised over $250,000 for Sinai Health’s LTRI.

It is safe to say that the event was ‘nothing but net’, as participants got a chance to show off their basketball skills for a fantastic cause. The tournament welcomed teams from a variety of organizations and provided game day activities, catering, photo booth opportunities, and more!
