Canada’s largest airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport serves over 40 million every year and, in 2019, Toronto Pearson International Airport was named the Best Large Airport in North America by Airports Council International. For several years, ICON has partnered with the Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) to help improve the overall customer experience at Toronto Pearson through digital technology and large format graphics.Using a series of LCD and LED videowalls, ICON Media has been able to elevate travellers’ experience at Toronto Pearson’s Terminals 1 and 3 by improving wayfinding and overall ambience. Curved LED bulkheads installed at Terminal 3 match the architecture of the departures hall while, at Terminal 1, a 25’ tall sculptural flower paired with custom LED petals, designed in partnership with Eventscape, creates an innovative medium to display flight information. Managing hundreds of screens throughout the airport, ICON’s network operations control centre plays a vital role in monitoring screen content and quality 24/7 to ensure maximum uptime.Large format graphics designed by ICON Media take over the massive windows at Terminal 1’s departure hall. Hundreds of panels of perforated graphics are installed allowing natural light to fill the terminal while showcasing campaign creatives from the outside. ICON strives to continue improving the travel experience at Toronto Pearson through innovation and design.‍
